Vietnamese and Chinese firms sign watermelon trade deals

According to Vietnamplus, contracts on the watermelon trade for 2018 and the following years were signed between Vietnam and China at a conference held in the central province of Quang Ngai on December 6.

The event was organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in conjunction with Quang Ngai province and China’s Guangxi province. In 2016, China imported 200,000 tonnes of watermelons, with Vietnam being the main supplier. Over the next few years both parties are seeking to assist farmers in production, help them improve the quality of agricultural products and increase the added values of their products.
