Iranian apple export estimates 10% increase in volume, 16% decrease in value

It's estimated that some 350,000 tons of apples will be exported from Iran by the end of the current fiscal year (March 20, 2018), Deputy Agriculture Minister Mohammad Ali Tahmasebi was quoted as saying by Tasnim News Agency.

Based on figures released by the Agriculture Ministry, close to 354,000 tons of the fruit worth more than $110.45 million were exported last year, registering a 10% increase in weight and a 16% decrease in value compared with the year before. The main export destinations of Iranian apples during last year were Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, the UAE, India, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain.
