Norway: Record sales of Norwegian plums at Norgesgruppens stores

Norgesgruppens stores have sold 750 tonnes of Norwegian plums this season, reports the grocery group in a press release. This is an increase of more than 60 percent compared with last year. Up to 130 tonnes were sold in a single week.

"We sell all the Norwegian plums we get when in season. We have always done that, but the crops have never been as great as this year and of such good quality," explains Pål Westby, of Norgesgruppens' Fruit and Vegetables department, in the press release.

He also boasts of the chain's fruit and vegetables. Westby believes that high sales are a good example of consumers' growing interest in Norwegian-produced goods.
