Iran produces 300,000 tonnes of cherries per year

Iran produces about 300,000 tonnes of cherries per annum, accounting for close to 2% of the global production of the fruit, the manager for development at Commercial Affairs Office with the Tehran Agricultural Jihad Organization said.

Hamid Reza Khalili added that about 84,000 tons of cherries worth over 4.18 trillion rials ($110.63 million) are annually produced in Tehran Province, IRNA reported.
