On 28th of June, the promotion event of American Northwest cherries was launched in Shanghai. The event with the topic of "Fresh Red Cherries" was aimed to introduce the quality cherries from Northwestern part of the U.S. and improve its popularity and reputation in the Chinese market. The Northwest Cherry Growers Committee will work with Alibaba and China Eastern Air and ship cherries with a special charter called the Cherry Express.
The Northwest Cherry Growers Committee has paid special attention to every detail that could affect the quality of the cherries exported to China and worked closly with online and traditional sales channels for imported products, including Eaemsll (from China Eastern), Tmall, Hema and Walmart. Upon arrival of the cherries, the Inspection and Quarantine Bureau examined the cherries on the spot to make sure there was no harmful insects on the watch list of the Chinese Customs. The inspection was sped up and thus domestic consumers can enjoy fresh and tasty cherries within 48 hours after they arrive in China.
