Switzerland: Valaisan Apricots: Low and Early Harvest

Due to frost in spring, the apricot harvest in Valais has been reduced by half of its regular volumes this year.

According to news agency SDA, 4,200 tons of Valaisan apricots are expected. An average harvest would yield around 8,000 tons, almost twice as much.

Because of warm weather in June, the harvest, furthermore, began two weeks earlier. It will end in late August.
