Farmer’s Best

Mexican table grape harvest to start May

Farmer’s Best, a produce grower in Mexico and distributor in the United States, announces the beginning of its May harvest of seedless Sugraone, Flame and Perlette grapes. These grape varieties will arrive to Farmer’s Best warehouses in Nogales, Arizona during May through June ready for distribution to major retail, wholesale outlets and foodservice accounts throughout the U.S. and Canada.



“We are pleased with our upcoming table grape season,” said Leonardo Tarriba, Farmer’s Best general manager. “Ideal growing conditions and our Farmer’s Best commitment to food safety, quality, reliability and sustainability will provide our U.S. and Canadian-based customers with a good and plentiful supply’s this year.”

The Sugraone, Flame and Perlette grapes are planted, harvested and packed in the fields at the La Costa area of Hermosillo in Sonora, Mexico. The Flame grapes, the sweetest of all Farmer’s Best grape varieties, are red, seedless and juicy, while the Perlette grapes are sweet, seedless, crisp, green and equally juicy. Both begin harvest around May 8. Sugraone grapes, which will begin harvested around May 25th, are known for their crisp texture and sweetness.



“All of our harvest, packing and shipping processes ensure that each customer receives the freshest grapes that are ready for retail stores and foodservice/restaurant presentations,” said Tarriba.
