Australia overtakes Thailand as China's largest supplier of fruit

Trade between China and Australia has seen a significant increase since the signing of the Free Trade Agreement just a year ago. The agreement seems to have paid off as total 2016 exports have been recorded at $107.8 billion.

Australia is the most developed nation that China has a free-trade agreement with. In the year since it was signed, China has cut import taxes on certain ag products out of Australia.

Meanwhile, Australia has overtaken Thailand as China's biggest supplier of fruit. In the first three quarters of last year, Australian exports of grapes to China saw huge increases. China has been Australia's biggest source of imports and a destination of exports for eight years in a row, while bilateral trade was recorded at more then 100 billion US dollars last year.
