Poland wants to remove more top fruit from the market

The Polish government has asked the EU for additional support for the apple and pear cultivators in the country who suffer from the Russian boycott, according to Polish press agency PAP. The government wants to remove more fruit from the market, and has put that on the agenda for a meeting of the EU agricultural ministers that takes place today.

The government worries about the situation
Last month, the European Commission already offered some relief by decreasing the amount allowed. Many cultivators offer the fruit that has not yet been sold to institutions and food banks for a small compensation.
