Regular sales of Abate pears

At the moment, Abate pear stocks are 15% lower than 2016. Sales are regular with stable prices and demand is well balanced on grades, even though the big ones (75+) are as always more popular. Commercialisation is supported by the good quality and shelf-life and will continue until mid-April for foreign destinations and late-April on the domestic market.

This was reported by an operator, who also talked about other varieties.

Commercialisation is almost over for William pears. As regards the Kaiser varieties, stocks are 50% lower than in 2016. European consumers are in fact increasingly less interested in these varieties. Commercialisation should continue until late April.

Stocks of Decana pears are 70% lower than in 2016. 75+ grades did well and commercialisation is entering its final phase with good prices.

Stocks of the Conference variety are 25% lower than 2016 and commercialisation is beginning to pick up.
