Poor performance of Atlanta Poland in first half of financial year
In the first half of the financial year 2016/2017 (the period from 1 July 2016 to 31 December 2016), Atlanta Poland's net amounted to 100.8 million złoty (approximately 23.36 million Euro), which is 32.9 percent less than in the same period of the fiscal year 2015/2016. The company achieved a net profit of approximately 1.7 million złoty (about 393,922 Euro), compared to 4.5 million złoty (about 1.04 million Euro) in the same period of the fiscal year 2015/2016.
In the opinion of the board of directors, one of the factors having the greatest impact on the results achieved has been the significant variations (decreases) in the price of raw materials, which has resulted in a lower sales revenue. The value of net sales in the first half of the financial year 2016/2017 decreased by 32.9 percent compared with the same period of the fiscal year 2015/2016, while the sales volume in the same period decreased by 14.7 percent.
Moreover, the company's results have also been shaped by the reduced supply to Jeronimo Martins Poland SA and the lower number of orders for processed nuts related to the plans to expand Atlanta Poland's production facility in Gdansk.
