Marlene to sponsor ski mountaineering World Cup

The races for the World Cup in ski mountaineering, a sport practised by more than 6 million people in Europe, started in the Andorra Pyrenees on 21 and 22 January 2017. The World Cup will continue until April, with races to be held in France, Turkey, Italy and Spain, and Marlene will be present on every occasion.

This year, the blue sticker apples and Infront Sports and Media have reached an agreement covering the sponsorship of the twenty World Cup races (10 for men and 10 for women) and the World Championships, which will take place in Italy's Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia regions at the end of February 2017.

The international races sponsored by Marlene, organized by the International Ski Mountaineering Federation (ISMF), include several different disciplines: Individual, which also includes a section on foot with the skis strapped to the rucksack; Vertical, an uphill race; and Sprint, a short Individual race that combines the essential features of ski mountaineering - climbing with skins, an on-foot section and a descent.

This year, at World Cup races amateurs will also have the opportunity to compete before the champions, on the same course. Hundreds of enthusiasts will be competing in the “Marlene Open Race” circuit at Andorra, Val d’Aran (Spain) and Prato Nevoso (Italy).

The Marlene brand will appear on the inflatable arches located at various panoramic points of the courses, on banners and flags, and on the competitors' thigh and race bibs.
