Apple and pear volumes surged in China

Recently the US Department of Agriculture has published one report regarding the fruits of deciduous fruit trees. According to this report, the harvest volume and export volume of apples, pears and grapes from China show an increasing trend. On the contrary, the fruit industry from the America and Europe starts to diminish, in terms of both harvest volume and export volume.

This report mentioned that the global apple production volume will reach 80 million tons between 2015 and 2016, among which China's apple volume has a year on year increase of 2,1 million tons, reaching 43 million tons, thanks its agreeable climate and fertile soils. Meanwhile, the report estimates that China's apple export will increase 400,000 tons, reaching the overall volume of 1.2 million tons, mainly to Asia countries including Bangladesh and Thailand. It is worth notifying that the increased volume of Chinese apples equals the diminished harvest volume in the United States and Europe.

Similar to apples' global condition, Chinese pears are also demonstrating an increase trend in terms of both harvest volume and export volume, while the pears' harvest and export volume from America, European Unions and Argentine regions keep decreasing. By estimating the pears' increase harvest volume of 0.814 million tons, this year the global pears' harvest volume can reach to 25.20 million tons, around 75% of which comes from China. In comparison to last July, China's pear volume will increase at least 1million tons and its estimated export volume will increase by a minimum 68,000 tons, reaching 0.4 million tons.

Regarding grapes, this year the harvest volume of fresh grapes will reach 21 million tons globally, among which China will account for 9.6 million, with an increase of 0.8 million in terms of its harvest volume. And this increase will compensate the grape volume drop from Turkey, Chile and the US. It is worth knowing that China's grape export to Thailand and Vietnam will increase at least 76%, reaching a record level of 224,000 tons.
