Oregon Cherry Growers expands

The Oregon company Bell Foods International Inc. was acquired by Oregon Cherry Growers Inc. on February 26, as part of its growth strategy. Bell Foods founder and president Craig Bell will join Oregon Cherry Growers in an advisory role, and his company will continue to produce and process non-cherry products.

Oregon Cherry Growers is a grower-owned cooperative comprised of about 60 family farmers. The co-op was founded in 1932 and has plants in Salem and The Dalles. It is the largest grower-processor of sweet cherries in the world and produces dried fruit, canned cherries, glacé and fresh cherries.
