Chinese lorry fire 'cooks' 30 tonnes of pears

A lorry carrying 30 tonnes of pears in China caught fire on a motorway in Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, last Thursday 4 February. The accident was caused by an exploding tyre and footage shows the vehicle in flames on the road, with black smoke rising into the air.

Several firefighters in the video can be seen trying to extinguish the blaze.
The flames spread to the whole vehicle within seconds and 30 tonnes worth of pears were "cooked". It is estimated the incident caused damages of around £20,000.
