Sweet, early start to Aussie strawberry season

The heat this spring in Australia means that strawberry season is well underway and the strawberries are much sweeter. The season this year began early October whilst last year it did not begin until end of October.

The Yarra Valley, Wandin and Silvan regions have had a few 30C days and the humidity has helped release the sugars in the strawberries.

Spirli Strawberries in Wandin North grows 200,000 strawberry plants, including Albion and San Andreas varieties.

The quality and taste of strawberries should maintain depending on the weather.
