How much are berries and mushrooms in Yakutsk, Russia?

August is the season of mushrooms and berries. This year the wild strawberries in Yakutia have had a good yield. Also there is a good harvest of blueberries, red berries and blackcurrants, and in the north, cloudberries. Keep up with the Queen of the Yakut Forest - cranberry.

On the main food market in Yakutsk – Krestyansky – blueberries are sold for 6 Euros per litre, blackberries and black currants – 10 EUR/lt each, and cranberries – 4 EUR/lt. Aldan gooseberry is rare this year and hard to find.

However, there are no fresh mushrooms on the market yet. Neither boletus, saffron-milk caps, nor aspen mushrooms. Not even russules.

In general, the abundance of goods and sellers leaves the question of the final price to the buyer. If you want to walk around and bargain, you can get nice berries at affordable price. Nevertheless, it is advised to find the time and go berry-picking into the forest. The sweetest berries are those that you find yourself.
