Hungary fruit crop could reach 1 million tons

Hungary's fruit crop could reach 1 million tons this year, up from the usual harvest of around 800,000 tons, according to Béla Martonffy, the head of professional association FruitVeb.

Martonffy elaborated that the big crop was supported by the mild winter and by growers' action of taking FruitVeb's advice. The apple crop alone is set to reach 780,000-800,000 tons this year, he added.
