"We don't have the final data regarding quantities yet but, as regards prices, we have gained 10% more in Italy than conventional products. Yellow peaches and nectarines were particularly appreciated abroad, and especially in Germany, Switzerland and Norway, with prices almost 10% higher than usual. The foreign market was also particularly interested in plums (in the photo below) for the next season," continues Elisa.
This was the first year abroad for Solatia products, whereas the premium range has been sold in Italy for two years now, and both our clients and final consumers are satisfied.
"Only the fruit that meets particular organoleptic criteria and shelf-life becomes Solatia, la gran frutta di casa mia. We might widen our range next year, if there is enough demand, tough we will make sure to guarantee our superior quality level."
At Macfrut, an event which will be held in Cesena (Emilia-Romagna) on 25th-27th September, a corner of the OP Granfrutta Zani stand will be dedicated to Solatia.
Sandro Zani, general director, and Raffaele Bucella, sales manager for Italy, will attend the event to illustrate the new strategies of the PO and they will be available at Pav. B, Stand 375-376.
Granfrutta Zani is part of Ortofrutta d'Italia, the communication campaign managed by Ferrara's Cso – Centro servizi ortofrutticoli to promote the knowledge and the consumption of seasonal fruit and vegetables.
