Spain: Unexport initiates almond exports to Europe

The cooperative society Unexport recently took part in Berlin's Fruit Logistica 2013, where it introduced almonds as a new product of its new export catalogue starting in February.

Unexport has attended the event "since its creation in 1999," assures Thomas Andersson, manager of the cooperative, "because united we represent the whole group in a single platform offering our wide range of products."

In addition to presenting the new products, Uniexport established business relationships with new clients that will now form part of its distribution chain, such as several supermarket chains from Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine and Belgium.

Cooperative members have good reasons to attend international fairs under Uniexport's single brand. On the one hand, it strengthens their position against competitors, and on the other, "unity allows us to access new countries and attempt to meet their demands for agricultural products," affirms Andersson.

With this union, "the region of Murcia's image in terms of quality, food safety and product variety becomes even stronger," concludes the manager.
