Belgium: Fruit Plant Protection workshop


An important workshop, organized by the University of Tuscia, will be held on June 28th, from 2:00 p.m. onwards, at the Headquarters of the Lazio Region in Brussels. The theme will be: Innovative solutions in Fruit Plant Protection.

The topic is particularly relevant given the importance of the whole sector, related to the different and important fruit chains operating in the EU with important implications also for economic and trade with countries outside the EU.

During the workshop problems of various parasites will be dealt with (fungi, insects, bacteria, phytoplasma), such as their economic impact on production and marketing of the fruit in Europe.

Also discussed will be pest risk associated with important parasites, appropriate strategies for their control, certification of plant material, advanced forecasting systems for identification of parasites, agents of diseases with European significance will also be proposed.
