US: Sapporo to purchase Silver Springs Citrus

Sapporo International, a new firm established to manage the international liquor business for the Sapporo Group, has acquired a 51% stake in American orange and grapefruit juice producer Silver Springs Citrus.

Sapporo will be paying $24 million for the purchase to the parent company of Silver Springs Citrus, Toyota Tsusho America.

Silver Springs produce private brand beverages for large retailers in the US and Canada.

Sapporo is looking to expand its operations to cover more areas than just alcoholic beverages in the future, particularly in Asia.
