US: ConAgra Lamb Weston recognised for energy efficiency

The ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston potato plant in Boardman has been recognized for its work in using sustainable energy.

This comes after the company was recently named as a finalist for the Oregon Leaders Award in the Strategic Energy Management Practices category.

The awards are presented annually in recognition of industrial businesses in Oregon that set an example in pursuing energy efficient goals.

“I couldn’t be more proud of the work at our Boardman plant, and the recognition employees have earned,” said Rick Gardner, senior director of manufacturing for ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston. “This award comes on the heels of the Boardman plant earning ENERGY STAR certification from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Both are validation of our long-standing efforts to limit our carbon footprint while protecting vital natural resources.”

The Oregon Leaders Awards are presented by the Oregon Department of Energy in collaboration with Energy Trust of Oregon, Bonneville Power Administration and Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance.

Winners were announced at the Fourth Annual NW Industrial Energy Efficiency Summit on January 18th.
