Chilean blueberry exports continue to fall due to rain

Exports in the last weeks of the season are steadily declining. In week 8, 1,456 tons were exported, almost 50% less than the volume shipped the previous week(7).

The drop of the volumes this last week matches with the end of season. The harvesting regions of the southern area have faced rain events that have affected the export volumes. With this, several companies have already closed their season, which is perceived in the lower volumes shipped.

Exports are planned to continue throughout March with low volumes for the time.

On the other hand, the situation of frozen blueberries remains complicated. US Stock continues high, in January 2017 there were 109,600 tons in stock, 14% more than the same period of 2016.
