Plentiful spring raspberry crop coming for Easter
Raspberries are currently in transition, due to the recent rains in Southern California and timing is in between winter and spring crops. Well•Pict is looking forward to a plentiful spring crop around the end of March to early April, just in time for Easter promotions.
Right now, Well•Pict Berries is sourcing out of the prime coastal growing area of Oxnard, CA. “Pricing is currently on the high side due to the shorter supply right now. However, keep your eye on the market as the spring crop comes in as it may change,” said Jim Grabowski with Well•Pict.
Well•Pict was at the recent Product Harvest show in Georgia this past January. The show, organized by Farm Star Living helps connect consumers to the fresh food they buy and those responsible for providing it to them. Well•Pict enjoys working with Farm Star Living because how well aligned each of their approaches to food and transparency are.
Just last October Well•Pict launched its virtual Berry Academy program. ‘We’ve had great feedback on the Well•Pict Berry Academy,” said Grabowski. “We’ve sent out many Berry Inspection Chart clipboards, and the Well•Pict Berry Academy video series on YouTube has seen lots of traffic and has been well received.”
