Japanese company selling heart-shaped strawberries for Valentine's Day

One strawberry company is selling strawberries at $11 each, which might sound crazy but according to them they can't keep them on the shelves. To take advantage of the holiday of love, Valentine's day, Courage-Create are selling heart shaped strawberries.

The selling point is their perfect heart-shape, and the company, which handles production and sales, is doing brisk trade and selling a limited lot of 100 units daily.

The strawberries go by the brand name of "Ichigokoro," combining the Japanese words "ichigo" (strawberry) with "kokoro" (heart), and each fruit weighs between 22 and 26 grams.

Akira Fujihiro, 42, Courage-Create Co. president, said: "Love can be communicated by just looking at the shape. I hope those who buy them can make a loved one smile."

The product, which was four years in development and first went on sale in December 2015, is available for order at their online store.
