China: Fresh pear exports fell in 2016

In 2016, the export volume of fresh pears reached 452 thousand tons, worth $490 million, with an increase of 21% and 10%. Exports, ranked by the top three provinces are: Hebei, Shandong and Yunnan. 

Hebei exported 133 thousand tons, worth $93.35 million, with an increase of 27% and 13%. Shandong exported 97 thousand tons with an increase of 11%, exports amounted to $97.73 million, with a reduction of 9%. Yunnan had a significant growth and exported 59 thousand tons worth $130 million, with an increase of 43% and 44%. The average price of fresh pears in 2016 was $1076 per ton, down 9% compared with previous years; showing an increase in the amount but a reduction in the price.
