Walnut Creek-based Del Monte Foods, today, 8th July, announced two new leadership appointments: Paul Miller has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and Robert Long has been appointed Vice President & Chief Information Officer. Both appointments are effective immediately.
Miller will be in charge of financial and risk management of Del Monte, including treasury. He has been with the company since 2014, when he joined as senior vice president and controller and was later promoted to chief accounting officer.
Long joins Del Monte from Big Heart Pet Brands, where he was vice president of information technology.
Both Long and Miller will report to Dave Meyers, EVP and chief administrative officer.
"We are looking forward to this exciting new leadership within Del Monte Foods," said Dave Meyers, Del Monte's chief administrative officer, in a company statement. "Both Paul and Robert bring a great track record of success with them to their respective roles, and we look forward to continued success and growth."
The new leadership comes after several changes to the company in the past couple of years. In May, the company converted its fruit and tomato products, as well as nearly 100 percent of its vegetables, to cans without the chemical Bisphenol A amid consumer concerns about the effect of BPA on their health.
Last year, Del Monte shifted its headquarters from San Francisco -- where it had been since its start in 1886 -- to the East Bay's Walnut Creek.
