Organic vegan products ideal for people with food intolerances

It has been a good summer for the Amondo brand, which won "The WineHunter Award 2020" for two innovative sauces (D'Orto e Di Mare and Pomarola Bugiarda). Considering the demand coming in from Italy and abroad, its looks like it is going to be a great semester for the brand.

"This award has arrived after years of research and experimentation combined with our professional knowledge of the macrobiotic diet and the passion for Mediterranean flavors," explains Titti Gemmellaro (in the photo), naturopath and creator of the Amondo brand.

"We employed the best technologies and sustainability policies to develop two delicious and nutritious vegetarian and vegan sauces. We have created Pomarola Bugiarda without tomatoes, processing specific ingredients perfectly combined with beetroots and fresh organic vegetables such as acidified umeboshi, reminiscent of the fresh flavor of tomatoes."

Pomarola Bugiarda is truly tasty and is conjures up the fresh flavor of tomatoes without containing them: it is the perfect solution for those who cannot eat solanaceae or who need to limit their intake. D'Orto e di Mare is reminiscent of the sea, even if it is vegan, thanks to the magic touch of hijiki seaweed.

The results of the annual The WineHunter selection were announced on August 16th, while the event will take place in November.

The WineHunter is an annual wine and food contest created in 1992 in Merano by Helmuth Köcher and in which over 5 thousand businesses take part.

The founder aims at turning WineHunter into a benchmark for Italian high-quality wines and local products.

The selection is made focusing on the research, discovery and sharing of local products celebrating the union between past and present.

"As for commercialization, the products find better placement in organic and specialized shops wishing to attract curious and demanding clients. We receive feedback from our clients every day. For example, Giovanni Nani, owner of La boutique dei cibi sani  in Montagnana (PD) personally chooses the organic products to be sold in his shop and loves our sauces," reports Titti Gemmellaro.

The main consumers interested in Pomarola Bugiarda are adults and children who suffer from allergies to solanaceae or nickel or from pathologies incompatible with the high acidity of tomatoes.

The following quality and safety parameters are taken into consideration: tastiness, Brix level (followed by an organoleptic test), CCP (Critical Control Points), seal security, pH, filling and pasteurization temperature and pasteurization belt speed.

"The greatest satisfaction is being able to meet the needs of people with intolerances or allergies to tomatoes, and therefore to all the food and sauces that contain them. The problem is rather widespread. Then there is the added value provided by the simple Italian ingredients and the organic, vegan and gluten-free certifications."
