South Africa to increase export of fruit to Russia

South Africa plans to increase the supply of fruit in Russia. This issue was discussed at the negotiations of phytosanitary institute Rosselkhoznadzor with the State Service of South Africa on the quality control of export agricultural products.

According to South African data, in 2018 more than 203,000 tons of South African fruits were delivered to the territory of the Russian Federation - 7% of the total exports of these products from South Africa.

To increase exports, representatives of the Rosselkhoznadzor are to visit South Africa and familiarize themselves with the process of growing fruit by enterprises that are interested in increasing exports.

According to a-ipp.ru, Rosselkhoznadzor has then handed over to representatives of South Africa the requirements for plant products imported into Russia. The agency also asked South Africa to forward the requirements for imported grain. The South African delegation expressed interest in importing Russian grain and promised to send an answer in the near future.
