For January to September 2025, Azerbaijan imported 7.17 tons of sweet potatoes valued at US$10,380. This represents a 72 per cent decline in value and an 88 per cent decline in volume compared to the same period in 2024, according to data from the State Statistics Committee reported by ABC.AZ.
Azerbaijan sourced 3.5 tons from the United States for US$5,000, reflecting a 69 per cent reduction from the previous year. Imports from Egypt totaled 3.1 tons for US$4,400, also down 44 per cent in both value and quantity. Spain supplied 0.6 tons for US$800, and 0.2 tons entered at US$20. Spain's shipments mark the first deliveries in 14 years, as official foreign trade statistics are available only back to 2011.
