"These are the first cauliflowers to boast PGI recognition"

"PGI Piana del Sele Cauliflowers strenghtened their position on the market during the second campaign," reported Leonardo Odorizzi, spokesman for the La Grande Bellezza Italiana network which, for the second season, is collaborating with the Consortium for synergic marketing.

"The work carried out by the Consortium chaired by Raffaele Scarano and our network is opening up new horizons. These are the first cauliflowers to boast PGI recognition, which was granted in 2024. Today, they can be found in many big retail chains all over the country."

This product's strengths include the protected geographical identification, a label featuring the nutritional values (certified by the SSICA, according to reg. 432/2012), and a revolutionary pack which has won two awards - Best&Veg Box 2025 in Berlin and ADI Packaging Desing Award 2025 at the Marca fair in Bologna.

Twenty thousand hectares are cultivated professionally in the Sele Plain (Salerno), about one thousand of which dedicated to cauliflowers. The soil and weather conditions mean the product grows without the need for special defence techniques and is characterised by a bright white colour.

"As well as being striking, the packaging also features a barcode for direct checkout, meaning there is no need to weigh the product. The formats available are 1 or 1.2 kg."

"In addition, consumers are informed of the different possibilities of consumption. Perhaps few people have thought of eating cauliflower raw, but this is possible with such a product through numerous recipes developed by qualified chefs. They can for example be cut into pieces like 'grana cheese' - a practical, quick and nutrient-rich option. The campaign will continue until the end of March and will be enriched by numerous promotional activities organised by the Consortium in 2026."
