Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. has entered into a strategic partnership with THACO Agri, the agricultural division of Vietnam's THACO Group, formalised during a signing ceremony at THACO Group headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City. The agreement establishes long-term cooperation on banana sourcing from THACO Agri's operations in Vietnam and Cambodia. THACO Agri will also develop pineapple production areas to meet Fresh Del Monte's requirements through a phased expansion plan.

According to Fresh Del Monte, the partnership is intended to strengthen its sourcing base in Southeast Asia and broaden its global supply footprint. THACO Agri operates a large agricultural platform spanning more than 85,000 hectares across Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos, using an integrated production model combining crop and livestock farming.
The agreement also includes cooperation between Fresh Del Monte and THACO Industries, THACO's mechanical engineering division, focusing on mechanization and automation to improve agricultural productivity. Both parties state that the arrangement aims to support supply-chain stability and long-term production planning in the region.
Representatives from both companies described the partnership as a step toward deeper collaboration in meeting global demand for bananas and pineapples through expanded and diversified sourcing.
