Greener Pastures New Zealand has announced the launch of the Greener Pastures Kiwifruit Fund, a vehicle designed for individuals and families seeking New Zealand permanent residency through the Active Investor Plus visa. The fund will invest exclusively in the country's kiwifruit sector, including ownership of orchards and shares in Zespri, the world's largest exporter and marketer of kiwifruit.
Launched earlier this year, Greener Pastures New Zealand positions itself as an integrated residency-by-investment and lifestyle advisory firm. It offers services linked to the Active Investor Plus visa, also known as New Zealand's "Golden Visa." The firm combines visa facilitation with investment opportunities and lifestyle planning, such as school placement and property sourcing.

The fund will focus on highly productive land in the form of kiwifruit orchards. Assets will include both existing orchards and new developments from bare land. According to the company, kiwifruit land has a track record of outperformance compared to other agricultural sectors.
Greener Pastures New Zealand highlights its institutional knowledge of agriculture through ties to the kiwifruit and dairy industries. Jones, before a career in banking and finance in London and later founding Origin Capital Partners, grew up in rural New Zealand with family connections to farming. Board members of both Greener Pastures New Zealand and Origin Capital Partners hold investments and governance roles in the kiwifruit sector.
This is the third fund raised and managed by Greener Pastures New Zealand and Origin Capital Partners in the kiwifruit sector. The first two funds are among the largest kiwifruit entities in New Zealand, collectively managing over US$134 million in assets.
The Greener Pastures Kiwifruit Fund is the second investment product from the firm intended to meet Active Investor Plus visa requirements. It follows the Greener Pastures Diversified Fund, which provides a lower-risk investment option in private equity and private credit markets.
