Eurosemillas invites you to visit its 'Home of Innovation' at Fruit Attraction

"Thanks to the success of the new Adelanto and Alturas strawberries, we've doubled our sales forecast for next season"

Eurosemillas will participate in the upcoming Fruit Attraction fair in Madrid from October 8 to 10. This year, the Spanish company has transformed its exhibition space in Hall 8, stand 8C02, into the 'The Home of Innovation', where it will showcase its varieties from the floor up. The company decorated the floors with different images of Eurosemillas' latest mandarin (Kino and its more veteran Tango Fruit brand), avocado (Luna), pistachio (Golden and Lost Hills), and strawberry (Belvedere) varieties; all of which will be labeled with their names.

"The messages we want to convey in this year's fair are: Innovating, inviting, and involving. We want to highlight our hallmarks and share with our partners and clients the advances we offer. We want to continue working together in a close, humane, not very formal, but very committed to the medium/long term manner that characterizes us when we develop our innovative projects," stated Ana Cano, CEO of Eurosemillas.

The Luna avocado - the latest novelty that the company presented for the first time in Europe at the last edition of Fruit Attraction and which comes from the international platform Green Motion Avocados - is a type B flowering variety. It functions as a pollinator but stands out more for its qualities as a variety. Its characteristics are already becoming well known: its trees are lean and much smaller, have a high yield, and produce fruits that, in practice, are identical to the Hass variety. As a result, producers are increasingly planting it as their 'main avocado' variety (in a percentage equal to or even higher than Hass trees). Not only does it improve the yields of the latter, it allows for more intensive and profitable production systems.

Last year, the company also launched the extra-late Kinnow LS mandarin variety under the Kino brand name. This exceptionally sweet variety yields fruit with very few seeds and prolongs the late mandarin season until April, or even May, just when supply is in decline.

Adelanto and Altura Strawberries

Eurosemillas' most outstanding offer will be complemented by two other strawberry varieties that, just like the Belvedere variety, also come from the California Berry Cultivars (CBC) program: the Adelanto and Alturas varieties. The Belvedere variety stands out for its earliness, productivity, good flavor, shape, size, color, and long post-harvest life. The Adelanto ripens even earlier, with more than 300 grams per plant at the end of February, needs fewer hours of cold in winter, and is capable of maintaining the size of the fruit throughout the season. Both stand out for their rustic nature and ability to adapt to different weather conditions (including drought). In turn, the Alturas strawberry is a moderate neutral day variety that yields large, lighter-colored fruits. It has high yields and the fruits have good flavor.

All of these varieties have been exceptionally well received. Eurosemillas doubled last year's forecasts for this season for these three varieties and now estimates it could reach 100 million plants worldwide by next season.
