Procesavo, a company that buys reject and unsold fresh avocados and turns it into avocado oil, has seen a rapid international expansion since its creation. “In two years it has been established in five countries: Spain, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the Dominican Republic and Mexico. One of our main objectives is to find business partners in more countries to continue our expansion around the world,” says Sergio Perez-Borbujo, one of the founders of Procesavo.
The managers of Procesavo have a good track record of advising agricultural companies, making tailor-made plans and helping with development in other countries, which has given them experience to expand their project.

Today Procesavo is not only dedicated to collecting avocados in poor condition and transforming them into crude oil, but the company also goes further. “We also have our own and exclusive avocado oil refineries in Latin America, which makes it possible to refine crude oil, bottle it, and reach distributors, specialized stores, or supermarkets, either with its own or private label. By having a refinery exclusively of avocado oil, we avoid cross-contamination with other oils, since residues are usually left during the process, we ensure the highest quality and a 100% pure avocado oil. We collect the avocados that producers, importers and retailers could not sell as fresh fruit and 30 days later we return them transformed and bottled in sustainable refined avocado oil," explains Perez-Borbujo
He says thanks to the diversity of businesses within the group, they can now offer crude, bulk refined, and refined bottled avocado oil. “In the same way we are developing declared ‘blends’ of avocado with other oils, because it is what the markets are demanding. For example, in countries accustomed to olive oil, they are requiring a higher percentage of olive to be introduced into the blend, and for frying, it is combined with sunflower and other oils to improve the smoke point, in addition to providing greater durability. Avocado oil has great advantages over other oils, due to its high content of oleic acid (55-75%), in addition to the high smoke point it has (271 ° C), which makes it an excellent choice for frying without losing the properties or its flavor easily, it is also rich in omega 6 and omega 9 fatty acids,” states Perez-Borbujo.

He concludes by saying: “In the current campaign, due to the high prices at which olive oil is being marketed caused by the low production of the Spanish campaign, avocado oil makes its way as an excellent healthy alternative. At the moment it is not so well known by a large part of European consumers. Those interested in developing a private label can get in touch with us.”
