A Colombian firm obtains Fair Trade USA certification for its Hass avocado

Jardín Exotics is the first Hass avocado export company in Colombia to obtain Fair Trade USA certification. According to Pedro Pablo Diaz, the manager of the company, this certification shows that Jardín Exotics is doing things correctly, aligned with sustainable practices in the short, medium, and long term.

Fair Trade USA certification opens another door for Jardín Exotics in the US department stores and in Asian markets that align with Fair Trade USA.

Jardín Exotics has obtained the renewal of the Fair Trade International certificate until 2027 and the Fair Trade USA certification until 2026. This showcases the company's commitment to long-term sustainable social practices.

It's worth noting that the fruit sold under the Fair Trade seal has premiums and surcharges that go directly to the employees of the producing farms, which translates into more resources for their families. This reinforces the company's supply chain's social sustainability.
