Arabian Peninsula markets have an appetite for Kenyan exotic fruits

Kenya's avocado, pineapple, and mango fruits are receiving a good welcome in the Arabian Gulf countries, says Mr. Adil Madani, head of the Adel Almadni Group based in Mombasa. The exporter ships its fruits to Saudi Arabia, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.

This strong demand for Kenyan exotic fruits in the Arabian Gulf is explained, according to Mr. Madani, by the geographical proximity: "I get very low transport rates, which allows me to offer affordable prices".

As for the quality, Mr. Madani explains that he selects the fruits he exports, and only ships fruits of good quality and caliber: "I started this activity recently, and my goal is to satisfy my customers".

The exporter says he is open to trade with customers in Europe if he receives requests: "So far, I have worked with customers in the Arab Gulf, but I can make available any volume needed and start exporting to Europe".
