The table grape world has implemented an improvement, especially in the harvesting and packaging phase. The revolution is called SmartPac and aims at improving the final product.
SmartPac is a packaging system that protects and extends the shelf-life of table grapes reducing dehydration of the rachis and controlling the development of molds thanks to one single product, i.e. a fully-recyclable plastic film. This great revolution generates an environment with a uniform distribution of SO2 which safeguards the fruit extending its shelf-life.
A comparison with multiple competitor models showed how using SmartPac is quicker and easier. It takes 10% less time to apply the product, which means fewer personnel and higher packaging productivity.
