Georges Helfer SA and IMG Citrus offer Flamingo, the Florida grapefruit

Georges Helfer SA and IMG Citrus introduced the Florida pomelo from Indian River 50 years ago. They will now develop a new partnership. This collaboration will allow the importer Georges Helfer SA to offer Florida grapefruits under the brand Flamingo.

IMG Citrus recently celebrated its 40-year anniversary and this year, the family business acquired one of the largest grapefruits orchards in Saint-Lucie, Florida. The plantation of over 1,600 hectares allows the group to maintain its privileged position in the citrus fruit sector in Florida. In addition to this acquisition, the family business is currently developing its industrial tools with the recent purchase of a new state-of-the-art Globalscan7 packaging and sorting line.

This new partnership is part of the development plan of Georges Helfer SA. The Rungis company recently announced a number of ongoing projects. The development of its activities and services, along with its many investments, are illustrated by its future move to Rungis, as well as the expansion of its warehouse in Cavaillon and the diversification of its range of products.

While in the process of increasing its industrial capacities, this partnership gives Georges Helfer SA the opportunity to serve quality products to its clients, including wholesalers and retail partners.

The Flamingo brand is a reference to the pink flamingos which populate the Everglades Natural Reserve. The pink flamingo is also Florida’s iconic bird.
