Leon undertakes a training plan for its avocado farmers

Mexico plans to export avocados to Japan

Rodolfo Ponce, the general director of Rural Development of Leon announced that they were planning to export avocados to Japan. These exports would be carried out in the medium term, after complying with the phytosanitary requirements demanded by Japan, such as health, product quality, sowing and harvesting processes.

Ponce said they were already working to achieve this and presented a program, My fruit Guanajuato 2019, to produce avocado Hass and Persian limes in 140 hectares in the area of Duarte.

The state, the municipality, and beneficiaries will investment almost two million pesos to rehabilitate the hectares, providing support in the planting of the trees, and training in terms of health.
