Costa Rica: JAPDEVA will receive container ships until April 22

The executive president of JAPDEVA, Andrea Centeno, and the head of the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation of Costa Rica, Olman Elizondo, stated that a specific group of containerized cargo ships were being transferred to the docks of JAPDEVA between April 10 and the 22.

The decision to transfer the cargo of a group of ships to JAPDEVA in this specific time period was made after a meeting - held on April 9 - between the Government of Costa Rica and the Container Terminal Concessionaire of Moin, APM Terminals.

It's worth noting that this is an extraordinary measure exclusively aimed at safeguarding the public interest while re-establishing the regular conditions of port service provision.

"We will organize the JAPDEVA teams as soon as possible to attend the ships so that importers and exporters receive the service they require," Centeno said.

The shipping companies and the authorities are aware of this decision to carry out the pertinent coordination as soon as possible. The Government of Costa Rica also stated that they would investigate why there were delays and that they would implement the corresponding measures.
