Italy: Ocean Alliance & The Alliance launch new service at La Spezia port

On December 8, Ocean Alliance and The Alliance have started their joint service on the Mediterranean-USA route at the La Spezia Container Terminal.

This new service will connect the northern Tyrrhenian port on a weekly basis with the eastern shore of North America. The service will link the LSCT with four of the most important US East Coast ports: New York, Norfolk, Savannah and Miami. The two alliances will use a total of six vessels with average capacity around 8,250 TEUs on the route.

According to portseurope.com, the new service will further develop the number of connections between the Italian and US markets via LSCT, which currently can offer a total of four services to and from the United States and Canada, covering practically all the shores of northern and central America.
