Food logistics company Nagel-Group has announced "significant price increases" for the coming year in Germany. On average, significant means more than 6 percent, Björn Schniederkötter, spokesman for the executive board of Nagel-Group, told DVZ. The increases are "differentiated according to customer and market, based on the real cost development." For this year, Nagel had targeted around 5 percent higher prices.
Nagel justified the renewed price round with a substantial increase of the production costs because of driver and personnel shortages, congestion and loading and unloading waiting times. These additional costs could not be offset by "the consistent improvement and optimization of our structures and processes" but would have to be "passed on to the market," says Schniederkötter.
