Turkey: Turkish tomato growers drop the use of American seeds

The Bereket Seed and Seedling company, located in Aksu, Antalya has started to eliminate the purchase and use of American seeds in response to the political tensions between the USA and Turkey.

The company owner Mumin Sahin promises that the declining value of the Turkish currency will not affect their prices and that they will only use locally grown seeds from this point onwards.

The owner also noted that there is an increase in tomato and pepper seed orders compared to last year, due to improving trade relations with Russia which remains the top export destination for Turkish tomatoes.
