Good profits for Jingold

An excellent season for Jingold, so much so that producers will receive a nice settlement. President Patrizio Neri added that "in Italy, we harvested around 8500 tons of Jingold kiwis. Quantities ended a few weeks ago, a month earlier than last year when quantities were actually lower. As for next season, we are looking to exceed 11 thousand tons as new orchards will become productive. We promoted our brand a lot over the past few years and we're finally getting some results."

Quality needs to be based on objective parameters. "All kiwi batches are checked and, only if they comply with Brix and grade parameters, they are sold under the Jingold brand. We have 4 quality levels with 4 different prices."

Over the past four weeks, another 500 hectares have been approved in Italy (reaching 1500 hectares). "Thanks to our productions abroad, our fruit is available all year round. We have strengthened our position in Asia, US, Canada and Australia."

"The first red kiwis will become available next season. In addition, the Z5Z6 variety will also be available, which is unique because it is eaten at 18° Brix.

As regards green kiwis, the Boreica variety is gaining strength. It is part of a kiwi management project thanks to which the Jingold brand is available on the market with an entire kiwi range all year round. Boerica kiwis are more oblong than Hayward ones and they are bigger. The colour of the flesh is a very bright green.
