"China: "Jiaxing vineyard owners value product variety improvement"

"Jiaxing in Zhejiang is one of China's most important grape production areas. Not only have farmers implemented the scientific management of grape plantation in the last two years, they have also come to value the improvement of product varieties. While many farmers planted Hong Ti grapes in recent years, this year the vineyards of Jiaxing show such varieties as Xia Hei, Yangguang Meigui, etc." This is according to agronomist Mr. Shen Weiguo.

"The grape production season in Jiaxing begins every year on May 15th and concludes around October 20th. Based on current conditions, the market price is estimated to remain stable and at the same level as last year. The overall production volume of grapes in Jiaxing is also relatively stable. The production volume will likely decrease by 5% in comparison with last year. The main reason for this development was a cold spell that hit Jiaxing when the vineyards were in bloom."

"Our vineyards are located in Jiaxing, Zhejiang. We sell our products through traditional marketing channels. Our grapes are predominantly sold through the Jiaxing Fruit Market and through wholesale markets and large scale chain stores in first and second tier cities throughout China."
