United Arab Emirates distribute 395 tons of dates in 26 countries

This week, the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation -as part of its Ramadan initiative- has shipped 395 tons of dates, to be distributed in 26 countries.
The seasonal project will see the distribution of the fruit, an integral part of the UAE's heritage, to needy people and families of Muslim communities in those countries in cooperation with the UAE. Dates will be sent to embassies there, as well as local charity foundations, hospitals, mosques, schools, Islamic centres and homes for the elderly.

Out of the 395 tons, 20 tons will be distributed in Bahrain, 15 tons in Egypt, 15 tons in Morocco, 30 tons went to Lebanon, another 30 tons to the Yemeni island of Socotra, and 24 tons to Somalia.

As reported on gulftoday.ae , outside the Arab region, the shipment included 6 tons sent to Ireland, 2 tons to Portugal, 9 tons to Spain, 15 tons to Germany, 15 tons to Japan, another 15 tons to Bangladesh, 40 tons to Kazakhstan, 20 tons to Pakistan, and 15 tons to Malaysia.
