Kenya: Government launches competitive avocado farming in Nakuru

The State Department of Agriculture and the county government are rolling out an ambitious economic stimulus programme in Molo, Kenya. Several thousand farmers will venture into competitive avocado farming.

Launched by Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Dr Willy Bett, the programme seeks to empower farmers to scale up avocado in order to be able to meet the demand for Kenya’s high-quality avocados.

At a recent field day some 10,000 avocado seedlings developed by KEPHIS were distributed, according to hivisasa.com.
