Three new bicolour apricot varieties hit the market

Three new late bicolour apricot varieties with excellent firmness, 60% colour, self-fertile and resistant to Sharka, developed by PSB Producción Vegetal, a company founded by the family Buffat, have hit the market.

"They are going to become flagship varieties next year. They are rustic varieties with a very good taste," affirms Stéphane Buffat, manager of PSB Producción Vegetal.

According to Stéphane Buffat, the first variety to arrive will be the LAR 2124-229, which is harvested 10 days before the Farlis®. "It has a nice blush on an orange background, a large AA calibre, a high productivity and an excellent taste," he points out.

The second variety is the LAR 2127-92, which is characterised by a nice red tinge, an AA calibre and a lack of defects in the epidermis. "It is rustic and produced 8 days after the Farlis®."

The last variety to be revealed is the LAR 2139-72, which becomes ripe 12-15 days after the Farlis®, with large AA-AAA calibres, a good firmness and no epidermal defects. "It has a traditional taste and also guarantees a good production."

Visits to get to know the new varieties are organised in France, in Larnage (Drôme).
